How to make butter "polvorones"

 

First you must have all the ingredients, which are one cup of clarified butter, one cup of sugar, two cups of all- purpose flour, one cup of ground almonds (if you do not want almonds you can add another cup of flour), half a teaspoon of vanilla extract and icing sugar to cover the "polvorones".

First step you got to do is mix the sugar with the butter and place it in the refrigerator for thirty minutes. Then take it out, mix it again until it is creamy white and add all the other ingredients. Start mixing it all until you start having the dough and it won’t be completely united so you must joint it with your hands into a ball.

After you have the dough into the ball you must stretch it in the table but not too thin. Use a pasta cutter to cut circles from the dough. Put the cut dough on the baking tray with baking paper. Bake it for twelve to fourteen minutes at 190° C until it starts to turn golden brown at the edges. Let it cool in the pan, sprinkle the icing sugar and they are ready to eat. ENJOY!
